Jalisco Government Dispatches Rescue Team to Santa Fe Mine

The government of Jalisco sent a specialized search and rescue contingent to support operations at the Santa Fe mine, where three workers remain trapped. The mobilization was carried out through the state's civil protection agency in response to a federal request. A contingent of 40 professional rescuers is now coordinating on-site efforts to locate and save the trapped miners.

The government of Jalisco sent a specialized search and rescue contingent to support operations at the Santa Fe mine, located in the municipality of El Rosario, where three workers remain trapped. The mobilization was carried out through the Jalisco State Civil Protection and Fire Department (PC), in response to a request from the Federal Government. Deployment and Operational Coordination The group, belonging to the USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) team, departed during the night and its immediate incorporation into the operations in the area is expected. According to the state authorities, this action is part of the inter-institutional coordination to address the emergency.

Contingent of 40 Elements The contingent is made up of 40 elements from Civil Protection and Firefighters of Jalisco, Guadalajara, Zapopan, and El Grullo. The personnel is trained in structural engineering, technical rescue, canine handling, emergency management, and operational communications, in addition to having specialized equipment. Prior to their departure, an informative meeting was held, led by Sergio Ramírez López, along with Jenny de la Torre and Mario Espinosa Ceballos. The commanders addressed a message to the rescuers, wishing them success and recognizing their commitment, dedication, and vocation for service in the mission.

Logistical Capacity to Work for One to Two Weeks The Task Force has operational autonomy to work for one to two weeks, which will allow for continuous operations according to the needs of the mine operation. With this deployment, state authorities are participating in the coordinated support actions at the national level to address the emergency.
